There I was, surfing the internet. This time, I was on business. I needed a throttle linkage for our dump truck. I was on a site called "All You Need For Dump Trucks." Man, they had it all. They had all the stuff that connects everything to everything else. Cables, twisty ties, etc. I clicked on a link for "Nuts and Bolts," It went bad...the screen went all white and in big bold print it said "DON'T YOU WISH YOUR GIRLFRIEND WAS HOT LIKE ME????? CLICK HERE"
Wait a minute...this is WRONG. I tried the browser BACK button. It did nothing. I tried the "X" button to close the browser. Nothing. I was stuck. I messed with it for about five minutes when I thought, enough is enough. I pressed and held the power button on the computer for two minutes, but it wouldn't quit. Still there on the Hot Like Me screen. I'm freaking out at this point. My wife is on her way home from the store, and she sure doesn't need to see this.
In my disturbed frame of mind, in retrospect, I should have unplugged the computer from the wall. Instead, I went out in the garage and threw the main breaker for the house. Power off. The stuff in the freezer was thawing. No air was moving. The fish in the aquarium were hanging there wondering what just happened to their environment. Dark and silent...
But the computer screen was still lit up, all by itself. Possessed. HOT LIKE ME. It was like a bad dream. What the.... Now I've completely lost it. I got on my cell phone and called 911. I got a dating service instead. I hung up.
Now, I'm in it. Just to get through this, I hit the link for CLICK HERE. I'm now a zombie - I'll do what you say. This is a Stephen King novel in the flesh. The next screen proclaimed "Enter Your Credit Card Number."
