White Powdery Substance      Goofy Stuff  Back Home

Associated Press

Columbia, SC -- University of South Carolina football practice was delayed
nearly two hours today after a player reported a white, powdery substance
on the practice field.  Head coach Lou Holtz immediately suspended practice
while police and the FBI were called to investigate.

After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined the substance
unknown to the USC players was the goal line. Practice was resumed after special
agents stated that the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.
